High Level Terran Versus Protoss Match

Hey guys hopefully your November is going well. Here is a great match from the MLG Dallas tournament between HuK and qxc, two of the worlds best and most well known players. They are playing as Terran and Protoss. The commentator is Matron.

Very fierce combat throughout. Big armies on both sides. Great use of using Stim Pack Marauders to take down Colossus. Incredible use of Medivac drop ships to keep the Protoss on his toes and attack him from multiple points at once. Also check out how to make money online and learn some cool stuff. One of our friends just started it. Play hard and keep winning those matches. Remember, if you are not attacking, you are probably losing.

Woundman officially to EG

MLG Columbus is long behind us now, and over that time there have been a few changes happening within the FnaticMSI family.

Emerson ‘Woundman’ Condon, winner of the Extreme Masters Global Championships, has been transferred to American pro-gaming organization, Evil Geniuses.

After much deliberation and discussion, the decision was made final a couple weeks ago.  Today we now see the result of this, as Emerson leaves to make a new home along fellow EM Global Championship winners, Isaac ‘Azael’ Cummings-Bentley and Charles ‘cdew’ Dewland in EG.

A statement from Fnatic Management can be seen HERE.

StarCraft 2 avoids Adult Only rating in South Korea

In a not so surprising move, the Korean Games Ratings Board finally gave StarCraft 2 a 12+ rating. Given that the United States counterpart ESRB gave the game Teen rating, it was surprising to see the Adult Only rating slapped on the most anticipated sequel in computer game history. The StarCraft is a national sport [...]

Starcraft 2 Already eSports GIANT

This is HUGE news to anyone in the eSports community. Only 1 week after the release of SC2 (Starcraft 2) Blizzard has unveiled that it's partner GomTV, will be hosting and broadcasting its own pro gaming league. Not only that, but the league will have over $500,000 worth of winnings up for grabs in the first season. Remember, this is for Starcraft 2 alone.

Here's a quote from the article "500,000 USD in prizes planned for the year 2010, which is the most amount of money in the history of e-sports"

Check the original article here.

As far as for myself. I've had a busy week, but I managed to sneak in a good amount of SC2 play, including beating single player and almost finishing all the challenges on gold. You can look forward to more posts covering both the Starcraft 2 single player campaign and beating all the individual challenges on gold (which nets you a pretty sweet profile pic!) in the upcoming days.

Starcraft 2 Single Player Campaign Experience

After getting my copy of Starcraft 2 at the midnight release I jumped right into playing the single player campaign. So far, I'm really liking what I'm seeing. There's much, much more to do here than in single player of SC1, as well there should be since blizz has waiting twelve years to release this sequel.

In case haven't gotten your hands on the game yet, and you should, the biggest difference from SC1 in single player is going to be staging area between games. It turns into sort of an RPG type environment where you can talk to Raynor's counterparts and more importantly get upgrades to your units, structures and even research new technologies.

Let's talk about those units and upgrades:
Remember when you played the original Starcraft and some of the units were hero units and maybe they even got one special ability, well times that by 100 and that is what you get in SC2. You can expect to see a c omeback of many of the units of old like the vulture and goliath with a new look and new upgrades. For example, the goliath can now be upgraded to attack ground and air simultaneously. The hero units even seem to have god-like power. One man can drop 4 nukes, is permanently cloaked, has AoE stun, a 300 energy shield and can use consume to get all his energy back. We're asked to stretch our imagination a little more than normal here but it's still awesome!

I don't want to spoil any more for you but, the story so far, and I've completed 11 of 29 levels is as captivating as the original and it appears to be a little less linear, often I'm given choices that seem to affect the story line and alter the missions. To me, this is HUGE and is going to give the game THAT much more replayability for fans. Since one of my favorite parts of the Starcraft single player campaign was the cinematics I was very excited to hear that there's over 45minutes of cinematics in the game.

That's it for now but expect more posts in the upcoming days.

Happy Gaming!
